Peter Maxwell Davies
The Lighthouse
Based on actual accounts from the letters of Assistant Lightkeeper Mr. J. Moore, this mystery opera tells the tale of the disappearing lighthouse keepers. Despite a verdict of death by misadventure by the Court of Enquiry, a shadow of uncomfortable mystery remains around the lighthouse keepers' disappearances. However, in the second part of the opera, a flashback reveals the truth of what really happened to the lighthouse keepers.
